August Favourites

Hi Everyone,

Here we are with another favourites post! The months are flying by! The month of August was busy for me and I got to test and try out lots of new and amazing products, some of which I will share with you all today!

I travelled to Manchester a few weeks ago and stocked up on some beauty bits while over there in Superdrug and Primark (the makeup range of there is unbelievable!) I also attended a blogger event and meet up in Limerick which was so much fun! A lot of bloggers from the Munster area, and further afield, met up in the Strand Hotel for a fun filled day of beauty, makeup and other blogging related antics. We received a lot of products and samples from different companies which I am still slowly making my way through, it may take a while haha! Before reviewing products and posting about them online,  I like to give them a proper test and use them over a few weeks at least, so I can get a decent feeling as to what they are like and then share my favourites with everyone!

So my favourites from August which I highly recommend are:
MAC Highlight in Soft and Gentle

This notorious highlighter from MAC is one of the best out there! I dust a little bit over my cheekbones, down my nose and across the cupid's bow everyday for a glowing look. You can also build it up for night time for a more noticeable highlight. I bought this back in March and it still looks new and as if I haven't used it. A little goes a long way so I have a feeling this will last me for a long time, therefore you are getting value for your money. If I were to recommend a MAC product to anyone, this would be it!

A more affordable option is this highlighting and contouring palette I picked up in Superdrug in Manchester. It si by the brand 'I Love Makeup', which I hadn't purchased from before. I love the highlighter from this palette and would recommend the palette for this product alone! I bought it for £5 so it is quite inexpensive for what you get! This highlight does not have as much of a shimmering effect as Soft and Gentle does but it is a great alternative!

My new favourite nail polish:
'Dream Big' from the SOSU collect by SoSueMe

This is such a gorgeous nail colour and one that I haven't seen before with any other brand. I first encountered it at the Munster Blogger Event when I had my nails painted this colour, I loved it straight away! It is a shimmery, rose-gold colour that looks just like it does in the bottle when on your nails, with a little shine too ;) Rose gold is becoming so popular now in jewellery especially so this colour is perfect to keep up with this growing trend.  They retail for €7.99 which is a little steep compared to brands such as Essence, Seventeen or Catrice, however the colour pay off and the long lasting effect make it worth the price for sure.

Brushes, brushes, brushes!

This absolute gem is from Primark and I paid £1.50 for it when over in Manchester! It is a mini stippling brush and I am obsessed! I use it to blend concealer, to apply highlighter and also to contour! As it is small, it makes it easy to apply bronzer and highlighter as you can only apply a small amount at a time which is ideal for daytime looks. I have yet to see it in Penneys here at home but when I do I will let you all know, and pick up 5 more! haha

My new roller brush for blow dry's:

€2 in Penneys, you can't go wrong. Using this with a hairdryer to on medium heat will give you the perfectly straight blowdry in minutes! I divide my hair into two sections and dry them each seperately with brush, adding volume to the roots and a sleek straighten to the ends. Love it!

And there you have it! My favourite hair and beauty bits from the month of August! I am currently trying out even more products for future reviews that I am excited about as well as new favourites ;)

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy,
Leah xx
